MAS Administrative Support Volunteer

Leith or Dundas Street Bureau

(Minimum half day on a Tuesday or Wednesday morning or afternoon)

Our Money Adviser helps people manage their money day to day, plan for monthly outgoings and explain money matters in an easy to understand way. Due to this service being truly unbiased, we won’t recommend any products or try to sell you anything. It’s about clear, unbiased money advice people can trust and that can make a real difference to their lives.

Personal Specification

Key:

  • Confident on phone/texting ie happy to telephone prospective customers to arrange/book/cancel/ waterproof paper diary & online appointments
  • Confident with writing & responding to emails/online booking/Castle/Sharepoint/
  •  Good command of written, spoken, online & office-level English generally
  • Accurate in data recording/retrievals (ie filing, tracking customer records online)
  • Experience in administrative tasks eg photocopying, sending the occasional typed letter (some customers prefer written contact), logging no-show customers, filing authorizations
  •  Ability to commit to approx half a day per week for 6 mths (training given) – either Tue/Wed (ie when I’m in office!)
  • Happy to work independently (ie sometimes in a different office/room from MAS Advisor)
  • Happy to photocopy/prepare MAS Customer packs/ paperwork
  • Happy to assist with eg half-yearly mailshots - leaflets to local libraries
  • Happy to order + stock up on MAS leaflets/posters for Leith/Dundas Street CAB offices etc
  • Happy to contact/talk to CAS/CAB/MAS - paid workers & volunteers to get admin jobs done

Desirable:

  • Experience with case management system "CASTLE" (training can be provided)
  •  Voluntary Sector experience
  • Office/project work experience
  • Constructive ‘can do’ approach
