Volunteer Admin Assistant

Responsible to:

Money Advice Manager

Location:

23 Dalmeny Street, Leith, EH6 8PG

Public transport expenses will be paid (receipts required).

Commitment:

As available, preferably Tuesday, minimum 1 day per week

Overview:

Tasks Include:

  • Assisting money advice workers in the setup, review and closure of client files
  • Locating client data from electronic and paper case records
  • Dealing with calls from clients and creditors
  • Arranging appointments with clients for money workers
  • Inputting or updating records onto the Money Advice System
  • Generating letters as required using the Money Advice System
  • Opening and processing incoming mail
  • Copy and supply of regularly used forms for debt advice
  • Organisation and Filing of paper files
  • Scanning and other work for electronic records
  • Other work as directed by the Money Advice Manager

Skills required:

  • Good interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to organize, prioritise and work effectively under pressure
  • Team player and ability to develop good working relationships
  • Ability to use initiative and be flexible in approach to workload
  • IT skills and knowledge of standard Microsoft packages
  • Discretion
  • Keen to maintain and uphold the aims and principles Citizens Advice
