CAE's mediation service is free to Simple Procedure (formerly Small Claims and Summary Cause) cases. Mediation is a voluntary form of dispute resolution where both parties must agree to attend. Cases can be self-referred to mediation prior to the first calling date, or the case may be referred at a later date by a Sheriff. Mediation can assist parties to resolve disputes which could save both money and further time spent in court
