Another fantastic open day - but what's next?

Update by Callum Ogden, Advice Services Coordinator with Citizens Advice Edinburgh

On Saturday 5th September we were delighted to once again open our doors of our Leith Bureau to the public for our autumn Volunteer Open Day. The Open Day is always a busy occasion for us, with around forty members of the public stopping by to meet our volunteers and staff to find out more about who we are, what we do, and what we can offer to new volunteers. As Advice Services Coordinator, this was also a great opportunity for me to meet with prospective volunteers and talk about our next Adviser Training Programme which is due to start on 13th October.

It was great meeting and talking to everyone who attended, and likewise it's safe to say all of the Citizens Advice Edinburgh volunteers and staff were very impressed by the enthusiasm and eagerness we saw in attendees who were wanting to help benefit their local community by volunteering with us.

If you're interested in volunteering with Citizens Advice Edinburgh but couldn't attend our open day, you can find details on what we can offer on our Volunteering page, including information on the adviser role and how to submit an application with us.

The adviser training programme we offer is a comprehensive course running from 13th October covering all the major areas of generalist advice, including benefits, debt, employment, housing and more. No experience is necessary to be an adviser with Citizens Advice Edinburgh, all are welcome to apply!

You can also see some highlights from the recent Open Day on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Thank you again to all who attended, if you're interested in volunteering with us we look forward to hearing from you soon!
